Recap
After last weeks loss to Manchester Magic, the Eagles were back on the road to face Manchester Giants.
The game started out fairly well balanced for both teams however the Eagles would take advantage of poor transition defence from the home side, and they would go on 17-7 run before they could respond. The quarter was the highest scoring for the visitors as they won 23-17.
The second started with the momentum from the first, with the Eagles going on a 10-1 run however that is where it would end for the away side. They would struggle to score for the next 3 minutes while the home side cut the lead to be down to 26-35 at the half.
The second half started out strong again for the away side however the home side would continuously comeback but the lead was still in control. Good defence and some unstructured offence, the Eagles managed to continue their play until the last 3 minutes when Manchester went on a 10-0 run to finish 41-45.
The Eagles looked to take the home sides momentum and initially they did with a contested 3 to take the lead now to 5 however it didn’t last long with defensive lapses that would eventually mean that Manchester were only down by one. A 3 minute stretch where the Eagles didn’t score, Manchester took advantage and would go onto win 60-52.
