Recap
After last weeks victory in Leicester, the Eagles would end their away game streak against Sheffield.
The game started out slow for the Eagles as Sheffield went on a 7-0 run before a timeout was called and they began to find some rhythm taking a run of their own to take the lead. The lead was short lived before Sheffield called a timeout, however 2 minutes before the end of the 1st quarter the Eagles would dominate all aspects and finish 13-19 to the away side.
The second quarter would be another tight one with both teams trying to finish close to the hoop, however it was the Eagles who would fail to capitalise multiple times and unfortunately this would be a common theme throughout the game. The eagles continued to dominate the rebounds however allowing middle too many times, Sheffield would capitalise and would tie the half 32-32.
The third quarter would be low scoring for both teams, there were some great displays from all however there would also be some great opportunities missed, especially for the away side so close to the basket and on free throws, it would finish 9-6 with the away side trailing by 3 heading into the fourth.
The fourth is where all the drama happened, the away side were determined to right their wrongs and did for a brief amount of time however failing to capitalise and allowing Sheffield to score so easily would come back to haunt them. Sheffield would take a 3 point lead with 9 seconds to go, however a fastbreak score and with contact the Eagles would head to the free throw line with 4 seconds left to tie it up. Another free throw missed, the Eagles would grab the offensive rebound but couldn’t get the ball in the hoop and the game was lost 55-54.
