Introducing Our Eagles 25 Emblem

We have reached a very special point in the club’s history and to mark the occasion we have created a commemorative emblem.

Next season will see our 25th Eagles BBL team take to the court, the 25th anniversary of our top-flight basketball franchise’s tip-off in Newcastle and a celebration of the milestone 25th title won by the club.

This emblem, honouring the history of Newcastle basketball, will take pride of place on our new playing kit and much more across the 2020-21 season.

Golden wings help the emblem take flight in thanks to all the ‘Wings Team’ volunteers who have helped the club throughout our 25 years.

The top section of the emblem features grey pinstripes representing the supports in our city’s iconic Tyne Bridge and as a throwback to the first Newcastle basketball team, who wore a pinstriped kit as the ‘Comets’ in the 1995 season before the club became the ‘Eagles’ a year later.

Linking our past to the present, the lower segment of the emblem features the eagle from our current club crest/logo in 2020.

Coinciding with the creation of the ‘Eagles 25 Emblem’ we are also launching a vote to find out which of over 120 players from the past 25 years will become our fan favourite 25.

While we have all been staying at home to protect the NHS and save lives during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, our ‘Eagles Nest-In’ video series has welcomed some of the stars from the past and present, serving as a guide through the history books and a reminder of some of the most prolific ballers to take to court for our city.

Voting will take place on our website and using #Eagles25 across social media next week with the final 25 all receiving a commemorative award and featuring on a collection of new ‘Eagles 25’ merchandise.

At this extremely challenging time for the club following the lockdown and the 2019-20 BBL Championship postponement, this special series of items available from our shop will help to raise much needed funds.

A full range of merchandise will be available over the coming months, but we are pleased to be able to put the first of our new ‘Eagles 25 Emblem’ t-shirts on pre-order today at just £18 for adults and £14 in youth sizes and all for delivery in June.
