We have a champion! Shannon Hiscock of Newcastle East Griffins club has taken the title and is crowned ‘2014/15 ECF Drive, Dish, Swish Overall Champion’!

Champion Shannon Hiscock and her family with Newcastle Eagles players!

In the final, Shannon faced shooting champion Jacob Jonas of South Tyneside Basketball Club and passing champ James Bell of Kenton Basketball Club!

Plans are afoot to expand the programme in 2015/16 to cover the entire ECF. This will ensure a consistent learning approach, identify potential talent and high performers, and recognise that achievement in front of a passionate Eagles fan base.

DDS creator Ian Macleod said: “It’s been a great first step for DDS, and I look forward to seeing the programme grow. Congratulations to Shannon and the other winners James and Jacob!”

What is DDS..?

Drive, Dish and Swish is a great new Eagles initiative which is the brainchild of Eagles Assistant Coach Ian Macleod and showcases three of the major fundamentals of the game, dribbling, passing and shooting. Competing clubs will hold competitions on each of the three aspects and then those Club Champions will battle it out at half-time in a future Eagles game to get an overall Champion in each discipline.

Each individual champion will then come together for the final event to crown the ‘ECF Drive, Dish & Swish Champion’..!
