York started the game out with some fire to the game playing in transition well and getting fouls to get to the freethrow line. After 5 minutes, Newcastle started to dominate, pressuring up well in the full court to turn it into layups.
Q2 – Newcastle Eagles II 60 – York Eagles II 17
With Newcastle being up by 20 to start the 2nd quarter they had to back off defensively, but they still pressured York well within the half court. Continuing the theme of finishing at the basket well. Newcastle started to move the ball well in their 5 out setup, distributing the ball to all 5 players on the court very well, creating open shot opportunities.
Q3 – Newcastle Eagles II 88 – York Eagles II 25
Newcastle kept the trend up with attacking the basket well in the half court, finding ways to get past the defence. Newcastle were finding more open jumpshots in the 3rd quarter, but it wasn’t their quarter in terms of shooting, and they were struggling to find the basket off the shots, but Newcastle were relentless on the rebound, and they got plenty of second chance points to keep the lead high, and growing.
Q4 – Newcastle Eagles II 110 – York Eagles II 37
To start the 4th quarter, the “curse of the 4th” continues for Newcastle, as they struggled to score again, but after a couple of minutes, Newcastle grouped as a team to talk about their problems and they found their groove back and they started to get back into the flow again, finding ways to keep to their strengths by getting to the basket and finishing strong.

With an incredible scoring performance with getting to the basket at ease and finishing strong. He even showed off his shooting abilities by hitting a 3 within the game and hitting several free throws, Francis ended the game with 37 points to encapsulate his impressive scoring ability.
