Recap
1st quarter
Eagles players struggle with the start of the game, going one second behind the defensive action and struggling to find easy options to score against a most intense team. Missing 4 free throws in a row Sharks got a 2-12 on their favour in the first 6 minutes which force Eagles coach to get the first time out. With few subs, the Eagles players start to find themselves playing their offensive motion and increasing their defence intensity to get a 9-4 on their favour leaving the final score on 11-16.
2nd quarter
Second quarter started with a face to face game, with both teams playing bit more aggressive and fluent on offence where the Eagles big guys took the responsibility leading the team for a 18-14 to Eagles to end the half time with Eagles 1 point below Sharks (29-30)
3rd quarter
Both teams start bit nervous with many turnovers and missing situations for both squads as the score board reflected a 2-2 on the first 4 minutes. Sharks started to focus on the game and penalising Eagles on their defence mismatch and lack of communication forcing Eagles coach to call for his second timeout. With Eagles back on track to finish the quarter 43-46 only 3 points down.
4th quarter
A superb and intense quarter for Eagles, forcing Sharks mistakes, and playing smart, calm and dealing with the tension. Two 3 pointers plus a 17-6 on the last 4 minutes lead Eagles for the first win with a final score 63-59.
Eagles top scorers: Jeremy Lievin – 24pts, Joe Moore – 10pts, Dan Ridley – 6pts
