Recap
The Eagles travelled to Sheffield looking to build on their good end to 2017…..
The game was only 40 seconds old when Coach Heath called a time out with his team 6-0 down and 4 turn over as his players just seemed unprepared to play… The quarter didn’t improve much as the visiting Eagles were taken apart by a more dominant Sabres team… (24-9)
The second period saw the boys in white start to get good stops against the home team and they limited them to 8 points, however the Eagles weren’t finishing their chances and they managed to edge the quarter by a score of 8-12 making it 32-21 at the half time….
The Eagles looked to regroup at the half time and they were looking for a good jump out on the Sabres in blue but it was the home team lead by Khan who’s shooting from the perimeter killed the Eagles as they claimed the period 23-13 making it 55-34…..
The fourth quarter saw the Eagles trying to get back into the game and with Themba Yabantu trying to dominate the court the Eagles edged the period 22-23 but lost the game comfortably at 77-57…..
Eagles coach Graham Heath said “We never got going especially in the first and we left ourselves a mountain to climb which didn’t happen… We had been in Sheffield long enough to be more prepared than we were… We will work hard this week and get ready for our home game this Saturday….”
