Recap
After last weeks victory in Cheshire, the Eagles were at home for the second last time of the season.
The first quarter the Eagles performed at the same level as Birmingham except they couldn’t execute after they got defensive stops. Both teams traded baskets however it was the away side that began to pull away. The Eagles responded, however foul trouble would hurt them throughout the game and Birmingham would jump to a 28-18 lead after the first after a 7-0 run at the end.
The second quarter went terrible for the home side as the turnovers piled up and Birmingham continued to punish the home for it, they went on a 8-0 run before a timeout was called, however they would score twice again before the Eagles could respond in the 5th minute of the second. The Eagles managed to score 11 points in the second after some great ball movement and recognition of poor help, however they were down 54-29 going into the 2nd half.
The third quarter had some very big positives from the squad but unfortunately they were too far down already, the home side went on a 8-4 run at the beginning of the third. The home side got the lead down to 19 however Birmingham would respond with ease and led 73-54 going into the 4th quarter.
The last quarter was the lowest scoring for the home side and the highest scoring for the away side. Their defensive stops and forcing of turnovers was too much for the Eagles as they went down 86-57 with 6 minutes left. Birmingham continued to pile on the points until the end of the game finishing 106-63.
The Eagles are on the road for the last away game of the season next week against Sheffield.
