Recap
After last weeks victory over Leicester, the Eagles would be on the road for the last time in 2017, against Birmingham.
The game started strong for the home side going on a run after some defensive stops gaining turnovers and scoring in transition. The Eagles managed to find their home into the 3rd minute and be level into the 8th minute where Birmingham started the real damage finishing the quarter 29-16.
The second quarter would be the biggest struggle for the away side only scoring 8 points, which would eventually come 6 minutes in. Birmingham took advantage taking a 42-16 lead before the Eagles could respond. The Eagles headed into the locker room at half time 57-24 down.
The home side didn’t slow down their pace of scoring, contested 3’s and transition offence would allow Birmingham to keep climbing in the lead with the Eagles scoring from the free throw line initially in the quarter before some transition play of their own would put points on the board. Birmingham finished 84-39 going into the forth.
The fourth is where the Eagles would score the most in a quarter, with 19 however they would still struggle defensively allowing Birmingham to score 27 in the last 10 minutes. Eagles struggled to get back as Birmingham, for another quarter would pile the pressure on in transition and would look to gain the ball back straight away. Eagles struggled throughout the game and would lose 111-58.
The Eagles play their last game of 2017 at home to Cheshire this Saturday at 12pm.
