However, after 6 minutes of play, it was the eagles turn start steadily chip away at the home teams lead, this started by the eagles making defensive stops against Myerscough forcing them to shoot low percentage shots to avoid shot clock violations. The first quarter ended 23-8.
The second quarter saw almost complete change in intensity as the Eagles fought back and out scored the home team and opened up the quarter going on a 6-0 run, holding Myerscough to score well into the 4th minute of the quarter. This charge was lead by Ridley and Evbuomwan whose contribution proved to be the spark behind the comeback to end the first half 39-36.
The first half scoring was dominated by Evbuomwan for the Eagles , with Ridley this time tying the game at 51 and forcing the home team to take a timeout . Myerscough came out of this time out and went on a 8-0 run and this time forcing the Eagles to take a time out to make some adjustments before the end of the third which ended 62-53.
The fourth saw Myerscough go to their bench and capitalise on the fact that the eagles were tired and held the visiting team to a total of 11 points in the 4th quarter.
U18s Head Coach, Calvin George said: “I am disappointed at the result, especially since the team fought very hard to come back after what was a tough 1st quarter, but small errors and defensive rotations is what let us down in the fourth quarter. The team has made a lot of progress through the season and we get better with each game but we have work to do and will learn from experience as we look forward to hosting Myerscough at home”
