So, congratulations to Leicester Riders on retaining The British Basketball League Championship, a worthy Champion when you look at the performances and records of all Clubs this season.

Not that the season is all over, far from it and this last week of the regular season is certainly a chance for all the play-off sides to fashion their armoury ready for the end of season mini-season where all teams start on a level footing.

First off for us is the trip to Surrey tonight where a W would not only severely dent the home side’s chances of a play-off berth but would consolidate our second place finish in a season where we’ve also won The BBL Cup and yet many are saying is a poor one!

Then back-to-back games against Leicester which many thought might be the title-deciding games but are none the less intriguing because they’re not. How will both Coaches and Teams approach games which are essentially “dead rubbers”?

Can’t see either Coach wanting to back down or concede a defeat leading in to the Play-Offs so we should have two cracking games between the season’s top two sides and only silverware winners thus far this campaign.

Then next Sunday the curtain comes down on the 2016/17 regular season with a trip to Sheffield and the head-to-head on the line. Again neither Coach or team will want to ride in to the end of season games with a L against their name.

So, yes, The Championships gone but the season is far from that!
